Yucatecan Architectural Wealth attracts tourists from around the world

Yucatán has become the first destination on the list of thousands of foreign tourists, captivated by its architectural wealth that combines history and beauty in every corner, has become a magnet for visitors.

The state of Yucatán is home to everything from majestic Mayan constructions to impressive colonial haciendas and elegant neoclassical buildings.

Tourists come across gems such as Paseo de Montejo, whose avenue is decorated with mansions inspired by the Belle Époque, evoking the golden years of the henequen industry.

Likewise, the San Ildefonso Cathedral, one of the oldest in America, imposes its sober and majestic design that dates back to the 16th century.

Not far from there, the Government Palace dazzles with its frescoes and colonial structure, attracting both those who admire history and those passionate about photography.

The Secretary of Tourism of Yucatan, Darío Flota Ocampo, pointed out that this architectural charm has not only boosted the arrival of visitors but also the interest of investors in the tourism sector, who have begun to restore haciendas and colonial houses to convert them into boutique hotels and cultural spaces.
