Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena presented the Dzilam II Wind Farm project, where 2.4 billion pesos will be invested.
This project is part of the Mayan Renaissance Plan that will promote the construction of a sustainable and clean future for the well-being of all Yucatecans.
The Dzilam II Wind Farm will have an installed capacity of 120 megawatts (MW) and an estimated generation of 418.8 gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year, directly benefiting more than 87,000 homes.
Díaz Mena learned the details of this project that will be developed by the firm Vive Energía. In turn, he mentioned his commitment to this and all clean energy projects.
Accompanied by the director of the Yucatan Energy Agency, Pablo Gamboa Miner, Díaz Mena stated that, as part of the Maya Renaissance Project that he heads, a strong push is being given to clean energy, promoting a more sustainable and efficient development model.
In this framework, the director of Vive Energía, Benigno Villarreal del Río, reported that the start of construction is scheduled for 2026.
«Yucatán has become an important energy development hub at a national level,» said Villarreal.
