Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena reaffirmed the state’s leadership in tourism and culture at the 37th Mundo Maya México Meeting; in addition, the Yucatán Pavilion was inaugurated at the 2025 Mexico Tourism Fair.
Rosarito, Baja California, April 29, 2025. Yucatán will host the 2026 meeting of the Mundo Maya Alliance, an agreement reached at the 37th Mundo Maya Alliance Meeting, held within the framework of the Tianguis Turístico México 2025, as announced by the Governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena.
He said that with this relaunch of the Mundo Maya Organization, of which Mexico will hold the presidency, greater promotion will be achieved for national destinations that are part of this journey through Mayan culture, such as Yucatecan destinations.
He added that Yucatán will host the “Ki Huik” Mayan World Tourism Fair, an event that seeks to promote the culture, crafts, and cuisine of the states and countries of the Mayan World.
Participating in the 37th meeting of this organization, Díaz Mena presented the state’s progress and vision as one of the most vibrant cultural destinations on the continent. Now bolstered by the Mayan Train, this tourist route, which includes Cancún, Chichén Itzá, Izamal, Valladolid, and Mérida, can be further invigorated. “The goal is to generate economic benefits for our Mayan communities,” he stated.
