As part of its strategies to increase the influx of maritime visitors to Yucatán, the state government will participate through the Ministry of Tourism Development (SEFOTUR) in Seatrade Cruise Global, the leading international cruise tourism event. It will present an interesting proposal to cruise lines to increase arrivals to Progreso.
Regarding this important event, which will take place in Miami, Florida, from April 7 to 10, 2025, the head of SEFOTUR, Darío Flota Ocampo, reported that during these events, the competitive advantages of Yucatán will be promoted to enable companies to be included on new routes, as well as increasing the frequency of arrivals of ships that have already been in the port.
This annual event brings together cruise industry companies and service providers from around the world who seek new products from destinations they consider most highly rated by travelers, in order to expand their travel offerings.
Yucatan will be present at the 2025 Seatrade Cruise Global, held annually at the Miami Convention Center in Florida, and will do so at a booth alongside Puerto Chiapas, Puerto Vallarta, and MPS, a company specializing in the sustainable management of vessel waste.
This tourism exhibition is attended by representatives from ports and destinations, as well as companies in construction, design, security, technology, entertainment, health, environmental, hospitality, and concessions.
Yucatan needs to participate in this event, as the main cruise lines exhibit, hold meetings, and connect with the destinations they work with to stay up-to-date on various topics. It also allows for contact with other destinations, authorities, shipping line executives, tour operators, and tourism professionals from Mexico and abroad.
During the exhibition, meetings will be held with port authorities and shipping line executives, and updated operational information on the port, attractions, and existing infrastructure in Yucatán will be presented to attract the attention of new shipping lines to Progreso.
At the event, contact cards can also be exchanged with other companies and authorities to establish links to future projects or events that will provide greater opportunities for the Mayan Renaissance to offer the benefits that Yucatán represents for tourism.
