Young fisherman missing off Dzilam de Bravo found dead

Young fisherman Josmar “N,” missing for several days in Dzilam de Bravo, was finally found dead at sea.

The unfortunate discovery of his body, in an advanced state of decomposition, occurred on Wednesday, April 9th, off the coast of Santa Clara-Dzilam de Bravo, near the former “Mina de Oro” ranch, by local fishermen who joined the intensive search.

Those immediately notified naval, state, and municipal authorities, who led the search operation.

On social media, user Adan Segovia confirmed the news: “The uncertainty is over! We finally found Josmar “El Isleñito” thanks to everyone, truly everyone, from the governors of Yucatán and Campeche, the federal and state legislators, fishing officials from both states, the captaincy, the Navy… family, friends, I wouldn’t have enough space to list them all! Thank you so much! Thank you for being attentive and for your solidarity and support!”

Members of the State Investigation Police (PEI) arrived on the beaches of Santa Clara to carry out the legal proceedings, while Semefo personnel would be in charge of transporting the body.

The young diver, originally from Isla Arena, Campeche, had been missing for more than five days after his boat capsized at sea.
