Woman arrested for drug dealing in Umán, Yucatan

After being caught in possession of various drugs, E.P.N. was charged with drug dealing offenses involving possession of the narcotics methamphetamine and cannabis.

At the hearing before the First Judge of the Fourth District (Umán), the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) presented sufficient evidence gathered in criminal case 23/2025 to issue a charge of indictment for the alleged crimes. The court granted a two-month period to complete the supplementary investigation and continue the inquiry.

According to the information gathered by the Prosecutor’s Office, on February 28, the now-defendant was located on 10-A Street between 19th and 19th Streets in the Cepeda Peraza neighborhood of Umán, wearing a red fanny pack. She removed several Ziploc-style bags containing dried marijuana and a white powder. The bags fell to the ground in her haste to hide them when she noticed the police.

A routine search confirmed the drugs were crystal meth and marijuana, according to chemical tests. She was arrested, and at the recent hearing, the judge ordered her to be held in pretrial detention for the duration of the trial.
