UNAY presents the free concert “Voices of the World”

The University of the Arts of Yucatán (UNAY) begins its 2025 cultural activities with the free concert Voices of the World, presented by the Cancún Municipal Choir, on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m., in the Caja Negra of the school.

Under the direction of maestro Miguel Ángel García Mejía, the choir will offer a varied program with international pieces and a special moment dedicated to Mexican music, promoting art and culture.

The rector of the UNAY, Domingo Rodríguez Semerena, highlighted that the concert will be an a cappella presentation of 12 talented voices that make up this group, recognized by international awards such as the gold medals in the Sing for Gold Competition in Barcelona and the Golden Band at the Prague Cantat. This year, the choir will represent Mexico at the World Choral Games in Denmark.

In addition to its musical quality, the Cancún Municipal Choir is characterized by its social impact, bringing its art to diverse audiences such as students, older adults, and vulnerable communities.

The rector invited citizens to attend and enjoy this unique event. In addition, he recalled that the UNAY activities bulletin is available on unay.edu.mx and its social networks.
