A Flamboyan tree was blown down by the winds on Wednesday, April 2nd, around 9 in the morning and toppled over. It fell on a car parked outside a business located on Mérida Avenue 2000.
The incident occurred on the aforementioned avenue at 63rd Street in the Xoclán La Reja neighborhood. The damaged car is a gray Spark with Quintana Roo license plates, which was parked in front of a property.
When it fell, the tree pulled down medium-voltage power lines that, up to this point, have been carrying electricity, posing a risk to pedestrians. Therefore, officers from the Ministry of Public Security have already closed traffic on this avenue from south to north.
Authorities are waiting for the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to carry out the corresponding work and restore power to dozens of businesses in the area.
