Ticul-Merida public transport van catches fire with 10 passengers onboard

A public transport van on the Ticul-Merida route caught fire on 23rd Street between 30th and 32nd.

The van, from the “Salvador Alvarado del sur del Estado de Yucatán” union, was returning from the city of Mérida with 10 passengers and apparently, a short circuit caused the fire.

Municipal agents and firefighters from the SSP attended the scene and managed to control the fire.

The van was reported as a total loss and the intense flames affected the facades of two businesses. But fortunately, no injuries were reported.
