The rehabilitation works at the “San José Tecoh” sports facility are delivered

The participation of the people of Merida in the design of the city encourages community ties and strengthens security”, said the mayor of Merida Cecilia Patron Laviada.

“Through sports, we protect and care for our young people, girls and boys”, added the mayor.

The rehabilitation of the “San José Tecoh” sports field is an example of the commitment that we have in this municipal administration to the improvement of the quality of life of the families that live in the colonies and subdivisions of southern Merida, said the Municipal President Cecilia Patron Laviada.

The Mayor headed the delivery of the rehabilitation works of the field, a project that benefited from the participatory budget program “Design your City”.

“Spaces like these make Merida a better place. They level the playing field because what we seek is social justice. That no one is left behind. That the south has better spaces and the delivery of this park is an example of that,” she said before mothers and fathers.

Accompanied by Carlos Carrillo Paredes, Secretary of Participation and Citizen Attention, she mentioned that this work is added to those carried out in colonies and subdivisions in the south of the city, to strengthen social cohesion and healthy coexistence through sports.

“Through sports, we protect and care for our young people, girls and boys and it is our commitment to continue promoting sports and culture here in the south of Merida,” said the Mayor.

She stressed that this is the reflection of the teamwork of the City Council together with all the parents, neighbors, and sports children, who pushed for this work to be possible.

Evian Mijangos Santana, representative of the “San José Tecoh” Field Project, thanked the Mayor for promoting these programs for the improvement of parks, fields, and sports spaces, pointing out that this remodeling had been a desire that the neighbors had for 35 years.
