The Souls are starting to arrive in Merida
As part of the activities that will be implemented for the Festival of Souls, the City Council of Mérida turned on the lights of monumental figures in the San Juan park.
The lighting of the lights of the figures was led by Mayor Cecilia Patrón to celebrate this tradition of Hanal Pixán.
18 figures were turned on that alluded to souls and catrinas that illuminated the public space of the park.
With this activity, the City Council of Mérida seeks not only to honor the local traditions of the Day of the Dead but also to encourage families to take ownership of this public space and enjoy it every day.
