The return to the Plaza Grande of the food vendors of the Mérida en Domingo program did not go unnoticed, since it was reported that their sales increased considerably, revealed Mauricio Díaz Montalvo, director of Prosperity and Economic Well-being of the municipality.
Although he did not give percentages of this increase, the municipal official said that there was a report on the sales of the food vendors of this program, but the difference from when they were in the park in the Santa Ana neighborhood was considered abysmal since himself saw the increase in profits after returning to the Plaza Grande.
“The change has been very strong, very positive. The truth is that they are very grateful and happy with the mayor for allowing them to return to the Plaza Grande, maintaining the order that they must have to preserve the city,” commented the interviewee, who added that there will be no more changes, that is, they will stay on 63rd Street.
Although they will stay in the same place as last Sunday, Díaz Montalvo indicated that they will make adjustments so that they are better accommodated and so that people little by little get used to their new location and highlighted the response of the people, since He came and helped reactivate the economy of these merchants.
The commitment of the food vendors stood out, since they carried containers to store their burned oil, and then took it to be recycled, in addition, all the garbage that was generated was placed in one of the nine garbage containers that were installed.
Regarding the new image that the program will have, the director of Prosperity and Economic Well-being of the municipality mentioned that it will not be until next year when the artisans and food vendors will debut a new image, as announced by the municipal president weeks ago.
