Residents of Telchac Pueblo tried to take justice into their own hands by capturing and assaulting “Gonzalo,” a supposed drug addict and alcoholic from that town.
Organized with sticks, lamps, and supposed firearms, residents of Telchac Pueblo lynched an alleged thief after starting a chase for an entire block, jumping fences from one field to another, until he was stopped by the residents.
The subject, identified only as “Gonzalo,” was a known alcoholic and drug user, and was beaten with sticks and stones by an angry mob in Telchac Pueblo, until he was arrested by the state police officers who arrived at the scene.
The details of the robbery or if there were more detainees in the altercation are unknown.
This is another case of civilians taking justice into their own hands in Yucatan after the dreadful case of the lynching of the man known as “Wero” by the residents of Tekit.
