With the arrival of vacations, thousands of people enjoy the sun, sea, and sand on Cancun’s beautiful beaches.
To ensure a safe and hassle-free experience, the Benito Juárez City Council invites everyone, locals, and visitors, to follow some basic recommendations when visiting the resorts.
Currently, Cancun’s 11 public beaches have 39 lifeguards on duty to monitor and assist in case of emergencies.
So, if you plan to spend a few days at the beach, it’s best to swim only in designated areas and where there is active lifeguarding.
It’s also important to wear a life jacket when boarding any maritime vessel and pay attention to the colored flags that indicate sea conditions: green means safe, yellow means caution, and red means danger.
Other recommendations for enjoying the beach safely include always following the instructions of lifeguards; avoiding going into the sea after eating or drinking alcohol; wearing comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and protecting yourself from the sun; and keeping an eye on minors at all times. Following these tips will help prevent accidents and ensure everyone returns home with good memories. The idea is clear: have a good time, but do so responsibly.
