The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) maintains its commitment to discipline and respect for the law within its ranks, so any inappropriate behavior by its personnel is sanctioned by current regulations.
SSP agents who were on routine surveillance in downtown Mérida responded to a report of a disturbance in a business on 65th Street.
According to a statement from that government agency, an individual disturbed the order at the location after not finding a product of interest, throwing merchandise on the ground, and performing improper acts in the establishment.
Given this behavior, the subject was arrested and transferred to the corporation’s jail.
It was confirmed that it was an SSP agent on leave, so the corresponding commands were notified for the pertinent administrative and legal procedures. The SSP reiterates its commitment to act with impartiality and transparency, ensuring that all public servants comply with the principles of respect and discipline required by the corporation.
The importance of timely reporting by citizens is recognized, which allows for prompt intervention and the restoration of order.
