Mérida will host the National Corn Fair, where more than 100 different products based on Mexico’s staple food will be offered.
Mexico’s staple food will have its own gastronomic event in Mérida: the National Corn Fair, which will take place this weekend in La Ermita de Santa Isabel Park.
More than 100 different products prepared with corn will be offered at the event, said organizer Delmar Briceño Valadez.
Visitors will be able to find mucbilpollo, pozole, tacos, tamales, quesadillas, nachos, chilaquiles, empanadas, tostadas, huaraches, esquites, roasted corn, tlacoyos, corn bread, ice cream, and bolis.
In addition, there will be a pavilion of Yucatecan farmers selling their harvested cornfields.
A multidisciplinary cultural program was also announced, featuring theater in Spanish and Mayan, jarana, folkloric ballet, trova in Spanish and Mayan, and regional Mexican music.

The schedule is: Saturday the 29th, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM; and Sunday the 30th, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
