The National Chamber of the Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Industry (Canieti) presented its action plan for 2025, focused on strengthening the technology sector in Yucatan. Priorities include cybersecurity, innovation, educational outreach, expansion into municipalities, and the inclusion of more micro and small businesses in the electronic sector.
Julián Morales Rivas, president of Canieti, stressed the need to promote ongoing dialogue between entrepreneurs, municipal authorities, and citizens to boost the development of the technology sector and encourage investment in new technologies, equipment, and supplies that allow the economic sectors of each region and community to grow.
Morales Rivas pointed out that, since the last state administration, efforts have been made to bring technological services and encourage the connection of businesses, small cooperatives, and businesses to digital needs, allowing a greater flow of sales, collections, purchases, and acquisitions through new technologies.
Collaboration benefits everyone, he said, we want the members of Canieti to share ideas and work together on projects that have a real impact in Yucatan,” he said.
The 2025 plan proposes tasks of rapprochement, work, and greater presence of companies in the technology sector with authorities small groups, and commercial organizations to generate greater fluidity to new technologies.
Bringing information, but also equipment and materials that benefit merchants and help them in the independence of their businesses, grow and save on services, time, and resources to have inventories, costs, and products without having to travel to the city of Merida.
It includes organizing specialized events on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, positioning the state’s micro and small businesses as a benchmark in innovation.
This plan seeks to align educational programs with the demands of the labor market so that graduates are better prepared. It also works to equip public universities and schools with specialized laboratories that promote practical learning and the development of local talent.
Another central axis is cybersecurity, a priority area given the growing use of digital technologies. Morales Rivas stressed that protecting data and systems is not only essential for companies but also for society in general, he said.
