Motorcyclist dies after being hit by a pickup truck under the Altabrisa Bridge

A tragic accident occurred around midnight on Tuesday under the Mérida Periférico bridge near Altabrisa, where a motorcyclist died, while his passenger was in critical condition.

According to the report, the accident occurred when an Italika motorcycle, driven by Ángel “N,” collided with a Lincoln MKX pickup truck. Initially, it was reported that the 18-year-old motorcyclist was hit by the pickup truck that ran a red light; however, authorities confirmed that it was the young man who ran the stop sign.

Both occupants of the motorcycle fell violently to the pavement. Witnesses of the accident alerted emergency services, who arrived minutes later to provide pre-hospital care.

Ángel “N” was immediately taken to a hospital in serious condition, but sadly died hours later due to the severity of his injuries. His companion, a young woman whose identity was not revealed, remained hospitalized in critical condition, hovering between life and death.

State Police responded to the scene of the incident to cordon off the area, gather evidence, and interview witnesses. The driver of the pickup truck, a young man whose identity was also not revealed, was detained pretrial while legal responsibility was determined.

The case remains under investigation, and an official report with the results of the expert report is expected to be issued in the coming days to determine whether sanctions or criminal charges will be filed.

However, family members of the deceased are seeking witnesses to the incident on social media, who can support the young woman, who is still hospitalized, and also seeking justice on behalf of the motorcyclist.
