In the residential apartment sector alone, there are 200 projects currently underway in the city of Merida.
The real estate boom that the city of Mérida is currently experiencing due to its security and quality of life, has led to greater investments from various states in the country, and this year there is an offer of around 200 residential apartment developments underway in the Yucatecan capital, so specialists recommended that foreign investors form alliances with Yucatecan businessmen to consolidate these projects.
Enrique Trava Griffin, real estate specialist and former president of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI), highlighted in an interview with Novedades Yucatán that Mérida has become a center of attraction, both for investors and for families who wish to settle in this city.
“The amount of investment that is taking place in the real estate sector of Yucatan is tremendous since developer groups are arriving that are no longer from Yucatan, many are from the center of the country, others from Bajío, from Jalisco with an impressive development tradition. What I would recommend is that they look for local partners who understand the idiosyncrasy, our soil, our regulations, and conditions, so that they can successfully tropicalize their projects, because many times, due to lack of knowledge of the market, they underestimate the market, without being able to move their inventories,” said the real estate specialist.
He also stressed that the city of Merida and the state of Yucatan are brands that have positioned themselves nationally and internationally in a very strong way due to variables such as quality of life, security, gastronomy, archaeological sites, beaches, and Magical Towns.
“There are many things that we Yucatecans know and treasure. As a result of this, many people choose the city of Merida to live in, there are thousands of families who “Every year, people decide to move to Mérida, which brings with it real estate decisions,” he said.
He added that people who come to Mérida find large real estate offers of all kinds, which can sometimes make it difficult for them to distinguish which developers are serious and have legal certainty in their products. Given this, he recommended going to real estate professionals certified by AMPI to be sure of their investment.
