The municipal president of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, began the repaving of 50th Street, located in the Historic Center.
This project responds to the high demand for improvements on the city’s busiest roads. The work will have an investment of 2 million 299 thousand pesos, as part of the 150 million pesos saved in the first months of its management.
The repaving of 50th Street is part of a larger project that will benefit 43 streets in 23 neighborhoods of the city. These works were chosen based on the urgency of their attention, as a result of citizen reports and the high traffic flow in those areas.
In addition, the Mérida City Council has invested more than 20 million pesos in the improvement of 26 streets between September and December 2024.
The City Council has intervened in the repair of 109,394 potholes, with a 61% reduction in daily reports thanks to the implementation of new brigades and specialized machinery such as Patch Pro.
In this way, citizens experience a significant improvement in road infrastructure and the quality of public services.
Cecilia Patron stressed her commitment to efficiency in public administration and the correct use of resources. “We want to do more with less, generate savings, and meet today’s challenges to improve the quality of life of all families in Mérida,” she stated.
