On October 30, the Rodada de las Ánimas (The Spirits’ Ride) will take place with the Cicloturixes group, this event is held within the framework of the Festival de las Ánimas 2024.
The meeting point will be at 8:00 p.m. in the Ermita park, and at 9:00 p.m. they will leave for the General Cemetery and then return to the starting point.
During the presentation conference, the mayor of Mérida, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, highlighted the importance of this event as it contributes to creating identity and community among the people of Merida.
“Culture is what gives us community identity, what unites us and strengthens us so that we continue to be the safest city in Mexico.”
For his part, Everardo Flores, representative of the Cicloturixes group, recalled that the essence of this bicycle tour is to remember the cyclists who died in road accidents.
At the end of the ride in the Ermita, there will be a contest for the best costumed animal; two bicycles will be awarded for the best in the men’s category and the best in the women’s category.
