Man arrested for dog abuse in Kanasín, Yucatan
A man was arrested by the Kanasín Ecological Police for an alleged case of animal abuse against a canine.
A young man identified as José Ignacio “N” was arrested by the Kanasín Police, accused of animal abuse against a dog at a home in the Los Cocoyoles neighborhood.
According to official information, the municipal Ecological Police received a report via social media about a case of animal abuse on a property located on 4B Street between 17th and 19th Streets in the aforementioned neighborhood.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a black dog with gray markings that showed signs of abuse, including a previous injury on its right paw.
Residents of the area pointed to the residents of the property as responsible for the cruelty.
The Kanasín Police proceeded to arrest José “N,” who was taken to the public jail and later brought before the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Meanwhile, the dog was taken to the North Base for safekeeping and evaluation.
The veterinarian on duty detected dehydration and some abnormalities, so treatment will be provided for its speedy recovery.
