Governor Joaquin Diaz Mena announces the opening of five new universities in Yucatan

The State Government, together with the Federal government, will open five new universities in Yucatan to expand the educational offer and prevent young people from having to migrate to other states to develop professionally,” said Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena.

Accompanied by the president of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) Yucatan, Wendy Méndez Naal, he said that, given the lack of infrastructure in the state’s schools, President Claudia Sheinbaum, at the request of the Governor, authorized the program La Escuela es Nuestra to include the Colegios de Bachilleres.

“In this way, these schools will receive at least one million pesos each year to improve the infrastructure and equipment of their classrooms”, Diaz Mena added.

“The government that I am honored to lead will immediately join an infrastructure improvement program so that our campuses offer more comfortable and better-equipped facilities,” the governor said while leading the ceremony for the 35th Anniversary of Cobay Xoclán, Technical School.

“With this action, more than 28 thousand higher education students throughout the state will have optimal spaces and adequate tools to prepare for the future,” Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena concluded.
