Five Yucatecan chefs among the best in the world: the flavor of Yucatán conquers haute cuisine

Five Yucatecan chefs were recognized among the best in the world by “The Best Chef Awards 2024”. It was in the city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, that the best of international gastronomy met, in which the most outstanding exponents in this field were recognized.

550 gastronomy professionals gathered at the event, of which 18 Mexican chefs stood out in the awards and five Yucatecan chefs won recognition and entered the list of the best in the world.

This year, “The Best Chef Awards 2024” implemented a new classification with one, two, and three “knives” to highlight culinary excellence, and recognize not only gastronomic legends but also young beginners, which is why it was divided as follows:

Three Knives: Dedicated to chefs who reached 80% or more of the maximum points.

Two Knives: Highlights those who achieved at least 40% of the points, representing a world-class skill.

One Knife: Recognizes those who earned 20% or more, underscoring their notable contribution to the culinary field.

There were five Yucatecan chefs who managed to place the Peninsula within the international focus at a gastronomic level, achieving outstanding positions in the “World Class” (two knives) and “Excellent” (one knife) categories.
