Governor Joaquin Huacho Diaz Mena inaugurates the First Gastronomic, Cultural, and Artisanal Festival, Temozón 2024.
With a wide range of flavors, exhibitors, artistic events, and cultural activities, the First Gastronomic, Cultural, and Artisanal Festival of Temozón opened its doors. It was inaugurated by Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena to promote the attractions of this municipality and position it as a tourist destination in the region.
Díaz Mena, accompanied by the honorary president of the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) Yucatán, teacher Wendy Méndez Naal, and the host mayor, Gerónimo Aguilar Canché, cut the inaugural ribbon of this showcase, which, from November 1 to 3, places Temozón, its smoked meat, crafts and traditions, as a mandatory stop for those who visit the Eastern region of our State.
He said that this first edition of the Gastronomic, Cultural, and Artisanal Festival, which takes place in the main square of the municipality, is a celebration that represents what defines us as Yucatecans: the love for our traditions, the creativity of the artisans, the quality of our products and the human warmth of our people.
Díaz Mena made a tour of the stands of the 27 local exhibitors who present to the world their gastronomic products, made of wood, and embroidery, among others. He also joined the Paseo de las Ánimas that took place within the framework of the inauguration, to later witness a Mayan ceremony, the exhibition of altars, as well as the presentation of Mayan dancers and regional folkloric dance, activities that are part of the attractions that this showcase offers to locals and visitors.
