Driver loses control of his vehicle on the Kinchil-Celestún highway

On Saturday, October 26, a 38-year-old resident of the port of Celestún was found driving a Nissan pickup truck, allegedly under the influence of alcohol on the Mérida-Celestún highway.

At kilometer 55 of the Kinchil-Celestún stretch, the driver fell asleep, crossed into the opposite lane, and left the asphalt turning over in the undergrowth. As best he could, the driver got out on his own to ask for help.

It was just dawning when drivers called the 911 emergency number, and SSP agents arrived at the scene of the accident, shortly before 6 a.m.

When the state officers arrived, they found no one, so they guarded the overturned unit while waiting for the National Guard.

Finally, the driver showed up so that the tow truck could take away the damaged unit. The man was not arrested, even though he was supposedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
