Día del Niño could leave an economic impact of 770 million pesos in Yucatán

Children’s Day celebrations will generate an economic impact of 770 million pesos in Yucatán, according to Canaco.

The National Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism of Mérida (CANACO SERVYTUR) announced that, in connection with the Children’s Day celebrations, which are commemorated this April 30th, an estimated economic impact of approximately 770 million pesos is expected in the state of Yucatán, reflecting the commercial dynamism generated by this special date for families.

During the celebrations aimed at the little ones in the home, a significant increase in sales is anticipated in businesses related to technological devices, toy stores, candy stores, recreational centers, children’s clothing and footwear stores, and restaurants, sectors that traditionally experience a surge in sales due to Children’s Day activities.

The president of CANACO SERVYTUR, José Enrique Molina Casares, mentioned that Children’s Day represents a strategic opportunity to boost the local economy, as it mobilizes thousands of families to purchase goods and services related to children’s entertainment and well-being. This holiday also allows businesses to prepare in advance to take advantage of the increase in demand, which positively impacts their income.

In addition, Yucatecan families were urged to prefer formal commerce, which guarantees product quality, offers better safety conditions, and contributes to the state’s economic development through tax payments and job creation.

Furthermore, it was recommended that purchases be made in advance, prices compared, and products and services that provide added value be chosen so that children can enjoy Children’s Day without affecting family finances.
