Cold front 24 paralyzes the ports of Yucatan, Holbox and Cozumel

Cold front 24 paralyzed all marine activities in Yucatan, since from the first minute of today Monday fishing and nautical tourism were suspended and at 2 pm the Regional Captaincy closed the deep-sea port of Progreso to navigation due to the storm.

In fact, cold front 24 became the worst meteor of the winter season today because it paralyzed almost all the ports of the Gulf of Mexico, from Tamaulipas to Quintana Roo, where the total or partial closure affects workers at Pemex and deep-sea ports, as well as fishermen and tour providers.

According to the evening report (2 p.m.) from the Captaincy Unit of the Navy, 10 Gulf ports are closed to large vessels, including Ciudad del Carmen, Seybaplaya (Campeche) and Progreso.

In contrast, 10 Gulf ports are open to larger vessels, including Campeche, Puerto Juárez, Cozumel, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Mahahual and Holbox.

In addition, all ports in Tamaulipas are closed to small vessels, except for El Cuchillo Solidaridad; 10 of 13 ports in Veracruz, including Veracruz; three of the four in Tabasco, except for Villahermosa; all four in Campeche, all 11 in Yucatan and two of the nine in Quintana Roo: the islands of Cozumel and Holbox.
