Claudia Sheinbaum arrives at the G20 summit in Brazil; Lula da Silva welcomes her

Claudia Sheinbaum spoke briefly with the president of Brazil upon her arrival at the G20.

President Claudia Sheinbaum arrived this morning at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to participate in the G20 Leaders Summit, which brings together heads of state from world powers to discuss policies related to the promotion of international financial stability.

Wearing a purple dress and a jacket of the same color, the president arrived at 9:45 local time at the venue where the summit will be held and was received by the host and president of Brazil, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, who greeted her and spoke briefly with her before taking the official photo with Sheinbaum and his wife Rosangela.

Lula da Silva had personally invited Sheinbaum to the G20 summit on October 1 when the president was sworn in as the first female president of Mexico.

Sheinbaum stressed that on this first day of work at the G20 summit, she will address issues such as the fight against poverty, hunger, and climate change. In addition, the president will hold various private bilateral meetings with heads of state, including with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.

Sheinbaum will participate in two plenary sessions at the G20
President Claudia Sheinbaum will participate only on the first day of the G20 summit, so she will have a tight schedule this Monday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where this meeting is taking place, as she will participate in two plenary sessions:

Fight against hunger and poverty at 10:20 local time.
Reform of global governance institutions at 14:15 local time.

In addition to these two plenary sessions, Sheinbaum will take advantage of the forum to hold various bilateral meetings, The countries interested in these meetings are:

Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente announced that they were looking to match the agenda and make room for meetings with various heads of state because the president will return to Mexico on Tuesday morning, so she had not yet confirmed with whom she would meet.
