Celestún is preparing to welcome more than 15,000 tourists during the Holy Week holiday season, with hotel occupancy already booked at 80%, as confirmed by Mayor Jesús Germán Cauich Pinto “Tano.”
The mayor emphasized that, in coordination with Civil Protection, the National Guard, and the Navy, measures have been implemented to ensure a safe stay and maintain a clean bill of health during the massive influx of visitors.
Despite the damage caused by Hurricane Milton last October, the tourism infrastructure is already 95% complete in its recovery, which will allow for a better experience for both tourists and residents.
Cauich Pinto anticipates a 70% growth in the local economy, benefiting the hotel, restaurant, and commercial sectors. Furthermore, he called not only on national and international tourists, but also on Yucatecans, to visit Celestún’s beaches and enjoy its natural attractions.
With its unique biodiversity, including the famous Pink Flamingo Sanctuary, and exceptional cuisine, Celestún is establishing itself as one of Yucatán’s must-see destinations this holiday season.
