Per Lei is a Cuban school that holds public auditions for the interpretation of its special dances. Among its various activities is the inclusion of boys and girls from Casa Otoch who are invited to develop their artistic abilities in terms of dance and also as spectators of the ballet.
The Modern Ballet Company of Yucatan has young and professional dancers who explained a little about their experience in dance and their notion of culture today.
Difference between modern and classical ballet
“Classical refers to having a technique made, modern breaks a little with this technique. Classical is only the high level, and in modern we move around the floor, the medium level, etc.,” explained the teacher Mayvel Miranda.
For the diffusion and growth of dance in the state, Per Lei has a club called Friends of Modern Ballet.
“We look for socially responsible companies that can support us, either with the diffusion of the presentations or with sponsorships, any contribution is good. We look for a continuity here in the state, which can be self-sustaining,” he concluded.
