Another accident on the Mérida-Celestún highway

A spectacular crash between a pickup truck and a sedan left serious material damage and one person injured on the Mérida-Celestún highway, at km 22.

The events occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, when the driver of a Ford 150 pickup truck, identified as Dino “N”, was driving at the old entrance to Tetiz heading to Kinchil and when he entered the federal highway he did not respect the stop sign and was brutally hit by a Matiz type car that was on the priority road driven by a man identified as Pedro “N”.

Because the impact was so violent, the Matiz ended up with its front destroyed and one of its occupants injured, while the pickup truck had its right rear tire come off; fortunately, both drivers, residents of Kinchil, were unharmed.

Municipal Police officers from Tetiz and the Public Security Secretariat arrived at the scene to take note of the events, while paramedics were in charge of providing first aid to those involved, transporting the injured person to the hospital.
