Animal Abuse in Yucatán: Man Beats and Kills Dog in Kanasín

A man beat and killed a dog with a piece of wood in his home in the Álamos neighborhood of this municipality. The incident occurred on 63rd Street between 64th and 62nd Streets in that neighborhood.

The man, identified as “José,” was arrested by Kanasín Municipal Police officers, although the dog did not survive the attack.

Initial reports indicate that on the night of Wednesday, April 16, a neighbor heard the dog crying and screaming and looked out and saw the man in the act.

The witness complained about the attack on the animal, but the perpetrator turned on him and responded with insults.

Despite the complaint, the man continued beating him, and when officers arrived, the dog was no longer showing vital signs.

Kanasín police officers arrested the man who killed a dog in that municipality on the night of Wednesday, April 16.

Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office were informed of the incident. Meanwhile, “José” was taken to the security building to answer for the crime. The neighbor filed the corresponding complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
