The accumulation of gases in the oven of El Globo bakery in the Hidalgo neighborhood, in Mérida, generated an explosion that left two people injured.
The events occurred around 2 in the afternoon on Tuesday, November 12, in the bakery located on Miguel Hidalgo Avenue, in front of a shopping plaza.
It was found out that the explosion occurred suddenly in one of the ovens, apparently caused by a gas leak that led to the accumulation of gases and the subsequent explosion.
Two people working at the site were injured, so the other workers immediately reported the emergency number to 911.
Paramedics from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) went to the scene, and assessed the injured, telling them that they did not have injuries that at that moment put their lives at risk, but they were taken to a hospital.
Firefighters and police who arrived at the scene, as well as Civil Protection personnel, evacuated people working in nearby businesses. The authorities secured the area of the incident and it would be the Civil Protection personnel who would carry out the relevant investigations to determine if there are still risks and the subsequent release of the property.
