Tragically, a woman died and another was seriously injured after their vehicle collided with a cargo truck west of Mérida.
According to the incident, the driver of the truck transporting concrete blocks slowed down to enter a gap, resulting in a white Honda Civic colliding with the right rear of the truck on Avenida 70 between Arco Vial Norte and Gran Santa Fe Norte.
As a result of this fatal accident, one woman died inside the car, while the other passenger was rescued alive from the vehicle by firefighters from the Yucatán State Public Safety Service (SSP).
After rescuing her from the vehicle, paramedics administered oxygen and provided first aid on the scene. Due to her condition and the seriousness of her injuries, she was rushed by ambulance to a hospital in this Yucatecan capital.
The area was closed to traffic while emergency services and other authorities carried out their work and assessed this unfortunate traffic incident.
