A boat with four crew members disappears after setting sail from Chicxulub Puerto

On Tuesday, March 25, the Yucatán Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported the disappearance of a boat that set sail from Chicxulub Puerto and was carrying four crew members.

In a bulletin, the state SSP emphasizes its commitment to collaborating with federal and municipal authorities in addressing this emergency.

It adds that on March 25, it received a report of the disappearance of a boat with four crew members, which set sail from Chicxulub Puerto beach heading out to sea. So far, no contact has been made with the occupants.

However, they indicate that the corresponding protocols were activated from the first notification.

It also explains that the SSP is working in coordination with the Ministry of the Navy (Semar), both by sea and by air, to search the designated areas, according to information provided by relatives and local authorities.

The agency emphasizes that for now, search efforts continue with specialized teams and available technological resources to locate the crew members.

The SSP recognized the work of the Navy, state emergency services, and the fishing community, which actively collaborated in the search efforts.
