Conkal Announces New Health Center and Ambulance

A new center will open to provide medical consultations and support for women victims of violence.

The Mayor of Conkal, Linda Pérez Quijano, presented key advances in health projects, women’s well-being, and tourism promotion, strengthening the municipality’s comprehensive development.

One of the most significant announcements is the upcoming opening of the Municipal Health Center, which will offer medical consultations in the evening and night shifts, psychological care, and legal advice, improving access to basic services for residents.

In addition, the purchase of a Type 2 ambulance was approved for the Xcuyún police station and nearby areas, where the demand for medical transport exceeds the current capacity. With only one unit in operation to handle between six and eight emergencies daily, this acquisition will strengthen the response throughout the municipality.

Regarding gender equality, the Municipal Women’s Office was created, which will include a “Violet Room” to address cases of violence, reaffirming the commitment to the rights of Conkal’s women.
To boost tourism, attractions such as the Museum of Sacred Art and a local art gallery will be promoted, along with new cultural projects. “Cultural Saturdays” will also be organized with music, exhibitions, and artistic activities.

“We want more people to discover the richness of Conkal,” the mayor emphasized.

Following the successful Children’s Day, which brought together 2,000 children with shows, raffles, and gift kits, the municipality is preparing for Mother’s Day with a main celebration on May 6 in the municipality, and additional events in Xcuyúm (May 7) and Kantoyná (May 8).

In addition, patron saint festivals will be held, which will include vaquerías (cowgirls), bullfights, religious events, and traditional dances, attracting visitors and strengthening the municipality’s cultural identity.
