Personnel from the Public Services and General Services Departments have been carrying out cleanup tasks on the island.
With the arrival of the Easter holiday season, the municipal government, led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, has intensified its efforts to beautify the municipality and offer a pleasant environment for both island families and tourists visiting the destination.
According to the statement, extensive cleaning and painting work has been carried out on the beaches, the iconic Rueda Medina Avenue boardwalk, and the Eastern Boardwalk, key spaces that welcome thousands of visitors.
Since last week, personnel from the Public Services and General Services Departments have been cleaning the entire avenue, as well as painting public areas and street furniture.
In addition, the Federal Maritime Zone Directorate (Zofemat) of Isla Mujeres has also done the same on the beaches, as the evaluation for BlueFlag certification was underway, which it achieved for the fourth consecutive year.
These actions not only seek to improve the image of our city but also to foster a culture of respect and care for our public spaces.
The Mayor of Isla Mujeres, Atenea Gómez Ricalde, has expressed that the island is committed to creating clean and attractive environments that reflect the hospitality of Isla Mujeres, to continue consolidating the destination’s tourism success and thereby generating shared prosperity.
