Animals at the Centenario Zoo receive special treats during hot season

In response to the high temperatures that are increasing in the region, the Centenario Zoo has implemented an innovative solution for several years: ice popsicles designed according to the needs of each species.

For felines, the popsicles are made with frozen pieces of meat and blood, and for primates, they are made with fresh fruit and natural plant coloring.

Other measures at the zoo include improved roofs in shelters and cooling systems in water fountains.

Dr. Odeisi Mora Camacho, a veterinarian at the Centenario Zoo, emphasizes that these popsicles are a “refreshing relief” for the animals, similar to how humans seek out beaches or pools on hot days.
