Two teenagers arrested for robbery in Tekax, Yucatan

Two 13-year-old minors were arrested after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife to rob her of her belongings in Tekax.

Tekax Municipal Police officers arrested two minors for their alleged involvement in an attempted robbery.

The crime was committed a few days ago against a woman who was exercising on Ricardo Palmerin Avenue, near the Regional Technological University of the South.

According to the testimony of the victim, Oyuki Suárez, the incident occurred while she was taking her afternoon walk. In her statement, she declared that two teenagers approached her, one of whom threatened her with a knife while demanding her belongings, and managed to steal them before fleeing the scene.

Following the report on social media and the corresponding investigation, the Municipal Police identified and arrested the alleged perpetrators, identified by the initials M.A.A.P. and. A.M.C., both 13 years old.

Police authorities reported that, once the events were clarified, the minors were handed over to the 31st Specialized Agency for Adolescents, based in Mérida, to continue the corresponding proceedings as required by law.
