A man was trapped between several rocks after a wall collapsed while working on the property. The accident occurred on 59th Street between 76th and 78th Streets in downtown Mérida.
The man was not seriously injured and received help thanks to workers from a nearby auto repair shop who heard his cries for help.
On the afternoon of Thursday, April 3, a man, named Ángel, who was working on a closed lot in downtown Mérida, ended up under several rocks and debris after one of the walls collapsed as he was getting out of a truck.
Workers from an auto repair shop heard the man’s screams, so they entered the property to inspect it and found him buried among the rocks. They began removing the rocks and contacted emergency services.
Red Cross paramedics, along with officers from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) and the municipal police, arrived at the scene to continue rescue efforts and assist the victim.
Initial examination revealed no serious injuries, but he was taken to the Red Cross for evaluation to rule out internal or serious injuries.
