Two men from this port were arrested and handed over to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) after being caught illegally transporting 14 Cuban nationals.
The rescue took place near the Yucalpetén port, where personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), acting as Coast Guard through the Ninth Naval Zone, intercepted two smaller vessels, one of which was being operated by the now-detained individuals.
Their legal status will be determined by the relevant authorities.
