After an absence of 15 years, Sidra Pino is back in Yucatan!

A piece of Yucatecan history has returned: the emblematic Sidra Pino returns to the market after 14 years of absence, and now, residents of Valladolid and visitors will be able to enjoy it at the Velut Restaurant, located in the Hotel & Suites Country, in the heart of the magical town of Valladolid.

A legacy with more than a century of history, Sidra Pino was founded in 1888 by José María Pino Rusconi, a ship captain passionate about natural drinks, who decided to create a one-of-a-kind soft drink with unique flavors. Its popularity grew until it became one of the most beloved brands in the Yucatan Peninsula, rivaling giants in the sector.

Throughout the 20th century, its characteristic flavor and its roots in local culture made it a symbol of identity for all Yucatecans.

Throughout its history, the company faced great changes: in 1935, it became a distributor of Coca-Cola, and in 1965, after being acquired by a Yucatecan-Lebanese businessman, its image was renewed with a new logo evoking the flag of Lebanon. However, strong competition with global brands led to its decline in the 1990s, culminating in its closure in 2011 after a labor conflict.

After more than a decade of absence, in 2025, a local company resumed the production of Sidra Pino, returning to Yucatecans the pleasure of enjoying one of the most iconic drinks in the region.

In its commitment to offering authentic and quality gastronomic experiences, the Velut restaurant in Valladolid has become one of the first Sidra Pino sales points in the state. Located inside the Hotel & Suites Country, on 42nd Street (between 33rd and 35th), Col. Centro, this space is distinguished by its cozy atmosphere, its excellent cuisine, and its commitment to local products with history.

The reintroduction of Sidra Pino marks a milestone in the history of Yucatecan gastronomy, uniting the past with the present in every sip. The Velut restaurant invites locals and tourists to discover or reconnect with this refreshing drink and be part of the rebirth of a tradition.
