Shots and panic in Fundación Dondé. Two men and a woman were involved in a robbery inside the plaza located in Region 228.
A violent assault with gunshots caused panic on Monday, February 10th at the Fundación Dondé pawn shop, located inside the Cancún Mall plaza, in Region 228.
At least three criminals, two men, and a woman, managed to escape after the robbery, shooting in the air to intimidate the security guards.
The report to 911 was received at 10:20 a.m. on February 10, alerting about the shots in the shopping mall. Upon arrival, elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) interviewed employees of the establishment, who reported that two men, accompanied by a woman, entered, threatened them, and began to take the jewelry.
The escape attempt was complicated when the security guards tried to surround one of the assailants outside the square. Seeing himself cornered, the criminal struggled with the guards and fired two shots into the air, hitting the windows of the Quality store.
The guards, who did not have firearms, could not do more, so the authorities were notified. At the scene, two people suffered a nervous breakdown and were treated by paramedics.
Agents of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), assigned to the robbery unit, began the corresponding investigations. The Municipal Preventive Police implemented an operation to find those responsible, but so far no arrests have been reported.
