Authorities seize drugs in two raids in Merida and Chicxulub Puerto

Federal and state forces seized natural and synthetic drugs today during simultaneous raids on two properties in Merida and one in Chicxulub Puerto.

In the operation, which is part of the ongoing fight against drug dealing in Yucatan, a total of 38.8 kilograms of cannabis, 4.4 kilograms of crystal meth, 2 kilograms of crack cocaine, and half a kilogram of cocaine powder were seized.

Gram scales, Ziploc bags of different sizes and colors, and notebooks were also seized.

The properties, which were also seized, are located on 62nd Street between 19th and 21st in Chicxulub Puerto, municipality of Progreso, and on 8th Street between 59-A and 63-B between 8th in the Roble Agrícola III neighborhood, south of Mérida.

Members of the Army, Navy, National Guard, State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), and Public Security Secretariat (SSP) participated in the operation with elements of the State Investigation Police (PEI) and the Canine Unit.

The investigations and their results are derived from information, evidence, and previous arrests, as well as from citizen calls to the emergency numbers 9-1-1 and anonymous complaints 089.
