A serious accident occurred in the early hours of this Thursday, November 21st, in the heart of downtown Merida, between two vehicles that ended up with good damage, in addition to the fact that one of these ended up inside a store.
The events occurred at around 5:00 a.m., when a Tsuru vehicle was coming along 66th Street and upon reaching the intersection of 59th Street collided with a pickup truck.
After the crash, both units ended up on the sidewalk, where the pickup truck was almost completely embedded in an antique store located on the corner, fortunately, none of those involved in the accident were injured.
It should be noted that the crash originated because one of the drivers ran the red light, but neither admitted that he screwed it up.
Municipal Police officers arrived at the scene to take note of what had happened and since there was no agreement between the two involved parties, they were arrested, since the property had visible structural damage.
It should be noted that crashes are frequent on that corner, as this is not the first time that vehicles have broken into the antique store, causing physical damage.
