A man was sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a minor in the port of Progreso.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported that the events occurred in August 2019 in the Campestre Flamboyanes subdivision, according to the investigations.
The Second Collegiate Trial Court heard the presentation of evidence by the parties during the development of the trial, with which it was possible to establish that the accused used physical and moral violence to sexually assault the victim in the aforementioned subdivision.
During the hearing, prosecutors presented expert, documentary, and testimonial evidence, which was sufficient to confirm the responsibility of the accused.
The man was declared criminally responsible for the crime of aggravated rape, being sentenced to 18 years, four months and 15 days in prison. In addition, he will have to pay a fine of 34 thousand pesos.
