Xcuyún, Conkal, October 29, 2024.- Mayor Linda Pérez Quijano, accompanied by the President of the Municipal DIF, Mrs. Linda del Rocío Quijano Cruz, together with the councilors and neighbors of the Xcuyún community, walked the streets with flowers, candles, and traditional music paying tribute to those who are no longer with us.
On September 1, 2024, in a Solemn Session of the City Council, Linda Margarita Pérez Quijano was sworn in as Municipal President of Conkal for the 2024-2027 Administration, a ceremony that was held on the esplanade of the Municipal Palace.
During the event, young people adorned the night with the participation of the Telesecundaria República de México choir, the Jazz group of the H. Ayuntamiento, and the Folkloric ballet of Xcuyún.
Later, the educational community’s students, teachers, and parents enthusiastically participated in a demonstration of altars.
It is worth mentioning that the altar display was also held at the Kantoyná community last Sunday, October 27. Each altar denoted creativity and love, so celebrating these important dates reminds us of where we come from and the path we must follow.
“Likewise, we invite citizens to participate this Wednesday, October 30 at 6:00 pm in the Paseo de Ánimas and the altar display that will take place in Conkal, to continue with this celebration of our culture and the richness of our Mexican roots, which fill us with pride and remind us of the value of our traditions,” the mayor said.
