Gas flare injures three people at the Ticul market

On Monday, October 14, at least three people were injured after a flame broke out inside a food stand in the municipal market of Ticul, which immediately mobilized the emergency services.

It was at the food stand “El Tío Pepe” where this situation got out of control. A family arrived from Oxkutzcab to have breakfast, but suddenly, apparently, a gas tank fell, which broke a hose.

A spark from the stove caused a gas flare inside the market, which caused burns to the woman who was serving the food and also reached two of the customers.

Upon seeing the flames, the other tenants came with fire extinguishers and put out the fire, which was later verified by agents of the fire department and Civil Protection.

The injured people were treated by paramedics and then taken to hospitals, although it was learned that no one was seriously injured.
