Tekantó made the request to the Holy Christ of the Exaltation according to customs and traditions

The Catholic community of the municipality of Tekantó made the formal request for the venerated image of the Holy Christ of the Exaltation to go on pilgrimage on November 15 of this year.

At the meeting held in the Catholic church of the Citilcum community, several points were agreed upon regarding the transfer of the sacred image to Tekantó, on November 15.

The religious temple was completely full of parishioners from both municipalities (Tekanto and Citilcum).

The municipal president Flory Cen Balam and the parish priest Cristhian Andrade Gutiérrez witnessed the act of the request.

As is customary and tradition for many years, during the stay of the sacred effigy, different activities will be carried out.

Among them: entry and exit of guilds, masses, visits to the sectors, procession, and in the social part, popular dances and bullfights.

During the petition, the signing of minutes and responsibility was carried out by the municipal president, Flory Cen Balam; the priest, Cristhian Adrián Andrade Gutiérrez; commissioners, and custodians of the saint from both communities.

For his part, the priest stressed that as a Catholic community, “we must always open our hearts to receive God our Lord.”

In this way, the request for the venerated image of the Holy Christ of the Exaltation was formalized.
